Andromeda

Andromeda

2 mins
207

Hurtling through kilolight-years across a million solar masses,

Andromeda looked into my eyes and whispered in my blood:

'Apocalypse is her throbbing heart you ripped out of her chest;

Apocalypse is the numbness creeping through.

Apocalypse is knowing Life is drained;

Apocalypse is the carnage that is you.

Apocalypse is the maiden chained to the rock;

Apocalypse is vengeance deified.

Apocalypse scales towering aspiration-

Apocalypse lies demolished with pride.

Apocalypse is to watch Love walk away;

Apocalypse is the sun wiped off the sky.

Apocalypse is the full moon drowned in blood;

Apocalypse is scalding lead pouring from your eye.

Apocalypse is chasing your fondest dreams;

Apocalypse is to watch them crash and burn.

Apocalypse is knowing there's no reason;

Apocalypse means there's nowhere you can run.

Apocalypse is the vice that grips your pain;

Apocalypse is to feel it grow and grow.

Apocalypse is abandoning all hope,

Apocalypse is your first step in Inferno.

Apocalypse is not about the answer -

Apocalypse sends all answers down the drain;

Apocalypse is deep diving for the question;

Apocalypse is the house built outside in.

Apocalypse is the rage of the Great Red Dragon;

Apocalypse is the Woman Clothed with the Sun.

Apocalypse may be a butterfly flitting by;

Apocalypse rolls lion  and lamb in one.

Apocalypse lies in wait in bright daylight;

Apocalypse is your darkest shade of fear:

Apocalypse is not killing strangers;

Apocalypse is to crush all you hold dear.

Apocalypse is her face half clad in shadows;

Apocalypse is the furnace in her eyes.

Apocalypse is her son dead on her knees;

Apocalypse is not knowing where pity flies.

Apocalypse is the rock pushed up the mountain;

Apocalypse is your struggling bravest face.

Apocalypse is an endless starting over:

Apocalypse is  a never-ending race.

Apocalypse is flying too close to the sun,

Apocalypse is being buried beneath the waves;

Apocalypse starts with Beauty blitzed by Power;

Apocalypse ends in kingdoms set ablaze.

Apocalypse is on both sides of the grave;

Apocalypse is the poison in your wine.

Apocalypse whispers, "Now is  when you run."

Apocalypse is the crossroads with no sign.

Apocalypse looms above the topless Tower;

Apocalypse strides Babel's Halls of Fame.

Apocalypse blasts Pride's tongue with Divine Power,

Apocalypse confounds Chaos to the pits of shame.

Apocalypse is the canker in the rose,

Apocalypse is  innocence you'll lose and find;

Apocalypse is the worm your flesh will feed,

Apocalypse is the rotting off of your mind.

Apocalypse is the weeping in the desert;

Apocalypse is your lungs squeezed out of air.

Apocalypse is the lure of the sirens' song,

Apocalypse is the fly in honeyed despair.

Apocalypse stares through windows cold and dark,

Apocalypse means no one's home any more;

Apocalypse is your life burned down to ashes:

Apocalypse is the celestial afterglow.

Apocalypse is your room in Hotel Hell;

Apocalypse sighs, "They're  programmed to receive!"

Apocalypse is your freedom to check out;

Apocalypse is knowing you'll never leave.'
