And She Lived...
And She Lived...

The earth stood still,
Whilst I shattered away.
Was it just me,
Or did you feel it too?
Named an outlaw, a modern woman,
Whose husband was taken away.
I never wore bangles nor vermilion,
Was that the reason too?
A blot, a disgrace, a widow,
I felt myself wither away.
Should my right to live,
Be abandoned too?
Getting on my two feet,
I felt the pain melt away.
Carving my niche, an identity,
Was it a crime too?
I stood tall and strong,
Battling all the demons away.
Living for myself finally,
Was it much to ask too?
