A Little Less Dread
A Little Less Dread
Clean room,
Messy head.
Had a hard time getting out of bed.
Looked at my reflection
And brushed my teeth.
Eyes had dark circles underneath.
Put on my shoes
and went out the door.
What’s even the point anymore?
But it was sunny,
and the air was warm.
My attitude began to transform.
Saw my friend,
she flashed a smile.
Forgot about my pain for a while.
Found a dollar
and gave it away.
The man said it was his birthday.
Got home
and sat on the bed.
Tomorrow is filled with a little less dread.
