A Late Apology To Nature
A Late Apology To Nature
I remember the day I was born
Not the one I was born into this world
But a day when I opened my eyes
To you beauty, the Mother of all beings
The enchanting Mother nature
The day I woke my senses
To your fresh pure aroma of love
To the music in your rhythms
To the tactile serenity of your being
You made me your daughter
But I, I was a hypocrite
I took advantage of you
I traded your wilderness,
Your gentile heart for my pleasure
I didn't stop until I saw you dying
I tore your belly by mining
I blinded you by burning
I suffocated you with plastics
I mutilated you, I killed you
Now I see you all black and grey
Lacking your luster and sheen
On your deathbed, dying painfully
Still, I feel nothing, I am numb
I feel the pain I caused you.
