A Fierce Scorn
A Fierce Scorn
That day I woke up,
Felt no life in my limbs,
Couldn't utter a single word,
Something was choking
My throat.
That day I became a woman.
Tried to stand up
But all in vain,
Gathered all strength,
And touched the earth.
That day I became a woman.
Stood up for the tenth time,
My body shivered,
Eyes couldn't see clear,
Still I walked.
That day I became a woman.
Left those adornments,
Forgot if I was a daughter
Or a mother,
I shook those ways.
That day when those cruel hands
Choked my voice,
Tears froze in my heart,
When I rebelled with fierce scorn,
That day I became a woman.
