A Battle With Depression

Oh! How I remember the good old days,

My face is lit up by the sun's rays,

Passing by the lush green fields,

Looking forward to what the day would yield,

Rising above the challenges like a phoenix,

Breaking the monotony, pushing the limits,

Dedication, hard work passion and luck 

Fusing to yield amazing results.

Meeting up with friends and acquaintances,

Exchanging greetings, gossiping, chatting,

Going on outings, I had a joyful life.

Fell into the black hole of depression,

Which had neither a head nor a tail,

Clueless, confused, anxious, melancholic

I turned, as I shied away from society,

Friends and family, felt lonely all the time,

I couldn't seek professional help,

Seeking help is seen as cowardice.

Stuck in a vicious loop of sorrow and misery,

Putting up a happy face in front of others,

Living a pretentious life, losing that drive,

Hunger, motivation, happiness and passion,

True friends stand by my side proving that

A friend in need is a friend indeed,

Offering a new lease of life,

Being a companion in all the walks of my life,

Being a glimmer of hope in the sea of darkness,

I am forever grateful to them,

Arising from the ashes, rising to the top, 

Moving on and on, we have done it!
