4 A.M. (Picture 12)
4 A.M. (Picture 12)
The world is still sleeping
Drowning in their thoughts
But I lay awake
Under a blanket of stars
The moon is my friend
And tells the most amazing tales
But only two hours left
Before we fall to our fate
The night will get over,
The moon will go home
The sun would be brighter
Than the day before
The dawn would come
And this makes me sad,
The bright light blinds me
Makes me visible to the world
But I am used to the shadows
So the clock shows 4,
The sky is grey
While I paint on a canvas
Made with thoughts gone array
The silence helps me feel
That my existence is real
I feel washed out in the chaos
At dusk I am a crusader
Righting all wrongs
But at dawn I'm just
A person wearing a mask
There's no glory in pretense
When everyone can see
That you can't live up to
What others believe
It's two hours to six
Till then I have my peace
And the galaxies above
Are all that I need
