In a village lived a couple with their son Tarak. Tarak had a dog which accompanied him everywhere. Every morning after bath Tarak went to the temple. The dog was playful, barked at random people, sometimes kids got frightened and threw stones at it. Tarak found a simple way, he tied the dog near the gate of his house before leaving for the temple. Thus he could peacefully perform veneration without having to worry about his dog. And the dog was saved from being exploited by urchins.

In the course of time Tarak got married. His bride saw him tying the dog before leaving for the temple. She thought it to be a practice in the family which perhaps helped in achieving divine gains. One day she too tied the dog at the gate before performing veneration at home. The dog was not accustomed to be tied by anyone other than Tarak. It started to bark expressly. Everyone ran out hearing the dog bark. Tarak's bride explained that she was going to perform veneration so she had tied the dog. Everyone was bewildered at first and later had a good laugh at her foolishness.
