Assault

Weary and dull night, I try to close my eyes for millionth time in order to catch some sleep but of no use. A voice startling me “'how can you try to sleep?”, I turn around to find no one. I could feel something approaching me beneath my blanket and before I could throw it away and scream my lungs out, it is gripping me tight! I shout“oh common anxiety, let me go! please not tonight!”. Anxiety diabolically laughing“ you know I am nocturnal, when the world sleeps I am responsible to remind of all the days you messed up and to remind you of the monster, Mr.Future!”.

I could feel my bed springs almost cracking now, I sit up and examine my blanket to see that anxiety has brought his family! Guilt and regret jump over my chest and do their little bachata dance! ‘’These brothers never come alone ”I think to myself. As if they weren't enough I see their sister, panic attack running through my gut to reach my head, I try to stop her but she is a determined athlete, not so easy to win over! I take quick breaths as grandma depression is approaching. She is old, slow as snail but when she takes over, she stabs the mind and heart! If she is hyperactive she might bring her distant cousin Suicide along with her! The assassination continues and they suck my energy and inner peace.

When I am about to give up, I see father hope and mother patience running towards my mind, both with their usual dialogues “We are so sorry for the mess our family has created! we are here to clean it up, all you have to do is to hold us tight!” I take them both gently and place it over my mind and let them slip into my heart. They act slow but they definitely will do their part.
