Not Just Hands
Not Just Hands
These hands you see
Are not just two parts soiled;
They have built many a roads and buildings,
And thus they get dirtier and oiled.
These hands have seen many a day,
And have but no cash in them,
Nor have any material claim
Yet they all do is toil.
These bare hands you see
Are not just a sign of hopelessness,
They are the hands of a worker
Who, while you are reading this,
Must have just got a break
From a long, harsh day.
These hands,
They build nations upon soil,
Raise a new, wide world
Only to see them vanish , one day...
