The art of writing

The real issue  

With the art of writing

Is not so much the doing of it, 

As to know what to write.

Some days I could go on

For hours unprompted. 

While on some others,

I find the simplest of questions

Often difficult to answer.

Folks romanticize the idea of being an artist, 

And it’s just not like that at all. 

Quite difficult it is-

Getting the whole thing right, 

It’s a lifetime’s job, 

& not this idea that you wake up and be inspired, 

Create a masterpiece & then be off to the pub!
