Chocolate
Chocolate
The dark, rich chocolate
With nuts that crunch under my teeth
A taste of irresistible heaven
Smells sweeter than honey
Sometimes infused with exotic flavors
Sometimes a hint of bitterness
Sometimes it’s just a plain piece of chocolate
A guilt-free indulgence to celebrate
The way it glistened when melted
The luxurious flavor of the cocoa bean
The warmth it spread; the joy it gave me
And once it was finished, my heart ached for more
If only I could eat it every day
For breakfast, lunch, and dinner
But the tummy aches and cavities haunt me
Scaring me away from sneaking more
