Colour Blind
Colour Blind
Dreary clouds welcome me each morning,
The Sun hides behind the clouds, frowning upon this world
As acidic rain pours out of the bleak winter sky
Every morning is the same as the other
The once green parks have lost their bloom and colour
The concrete jungles hold neither life nor cheer
Cars crowd the roads huffing and puffing black smoke
Smoke, as dark as death’s deep dusk eye
The dark waters of the oceans, like poisoned blood
Shimmering with black oils and overflowing litter
White pieces of plastic decorate the seas
So still and tranquil, like the calm before a storm
The rainbows in the sky seem to have disappeared
The fresh spring colours have turned dull and lifeless
The blues of the oceans now darkened by a malicious shadow cast
The colours of this world have turned into black, white and grey
Under a spell everyone is cast, they believe the false
They don’t see what I see, all the destruction caused,
Isn’t this world losing its entire colour?
Or perhaps, I’m simply colour blind?
