The summers in Canada are serene and healthy. British Columbia is one of the biggest tourism places that Canada has. But for Tom Reynolds, it was a regular, No-fun, No-Sale day. He was just sitting on his chair, looking out of the window of the music shop, Watching the tourists going to all the shops but his. His face was not dull as he had stopped caring for the revenue a long ago. He did have dreams, He did want to earn big bucks. But all he needed was a platform to build his house of achievements and a mother who would not keep him where she wanted..

He had been studying his whole life, away from his home in California, USA. He tried to get a job by appearing in so many interviews that he then finally left the campus and came back home to Canada. He tried getting a job in Ontario, after his father urged him to sit at the shop which was not only his legacy to his son but a long lived family business, but Tom never listened as his dreams were bigger. He didn't want to sit his all life on a chair, waiting for a customer to come and try to sell things which he didn't find interesting at all.But he failed there, too. Recession had taken over every IT professional's life and there was no vacancies left anywhere that matched his Job Profile. After the death of his father, the only earning member of the family, he had no option but to stay with his old mother and take the responsibility of the shop. He had a masters degree in Computer Education, But the Degree was just eating dust for over a year then. His eyes were scanning through each customers face, He could see the weirdness they were feeling just by looking at Tom's Shop.

Suddenly he felt a presence in front of the door, he took off his legs from the table and got up, ready to smile as real as he could. He welcomed the lady who had just entered the shop, with a 'Big & Fake' smile. The lady was looking everywhere, from left to right, from the rooftop to the merchandise lying on the floor. The boxes of merchandise were full of dust and were looking like if they had been dug up from the desert just few minutes ago. The lady went towards a section which had flutes and trumpets. The lady asked for a black flute with wooden carves and steel accessories, typically an Indian style flute was not in her eyes. Tom thrust towards the section, mistakenly kicking some boxes along the way. The lady laughed softly while watching the walk. Tom asked if she had any price range in her mind so that he could narrow down the choices. She just shook her head saying 'No' and smiled. She was noticing everything Tom was doing, whether it be giving a fake smile or a standing in a formal posture.

She chose one flute which had the exact qualities that she had asked for and while paying she introduced herself to him as Jerry. He was happy to know that she was interested in him as she asked about Tom's hobbies and choices very gracefully. They began a conversation that led to the introduction. Tom came to know that Jerry worked for a Multi National Company which were in high demand of a talent like Tom had. Jerry also came to know about the difficulties Tom was facing and she then offered him to help in getting a place inside that MNC. Tom agreed and then they exchanged their numbers.

After some days, Tom returned to his home, with a big smile, but this time the smile was all but fake. He showed the offer letter to his mother and informed everyone he could. Everyone! Even the people who refused to help him while he was down. He was happy then. In fact, everyone should be if they were moving to New York City, He had a highly paid Job and a beautiful yet an elegant colleague. He knew if it had not been for his mother being stubborn for running the shop at that time, He could not have the job he had in his life ever.

Now everything was colourful for him. Every face he looked were graceful and joyous. Every window showed him other sky-scrappers instead of old shops. And the roots of his successful life had just grown a hundred times in just few days.

This was only possible because of Jerry. He was living his dreams, just because of a stranger.

Life is so unpredictable that one might never know who is going to be helpful to us and who is going to throw us like a piece of garbage. Don't break a relation just because one is not helping you at all in present situation. In fact don't break relations ever.
