Wheels Of Wish!

We are now the slaves of consumerism and technology!

We must free ourselves from the hands of this octopus which has now chained us fully in its grips! We should lead a simpler life and avoid all the luxurious life style and materialistic competition which made us ugly and insensitive towards each other!

Young master Latif ended up his lecture on these notes, which was his own philosophy and started packing his papers in a file to put it in a bag. Suddenly he heard a noise in the playground in the school and hurriedly moved out of the class room to look into that matter.

Every one was looking up at the sky so he also did the same, from the corridor near the courtyard there. First nothing was visible. Then he heard a noise like a big kite was flying. And to his astonishment there it was, someone really was flying around the sky above the school. That things finally crashed landed right on the corridor near him and he almost got scared and backed a few meters away.

But curiosity kills the cat! So he also inched towards the things which finally moved and straightened just to show the softness of a beautiful fairy right from the fairytales!

Ww what are you....!!!

He stuttered.

And she got more scared than he was. 

Who are you? Will you kill me?

 A melodious voice came out of her pale face and short mouth.

What! Why would I do that!!

He got dumbfounded on that stupid question.

He extended his hand and she managed to get up on her feet. There were literally two feathers on her back like a butterfly. Even her short dress looked as if it was a part of her skin! Overall she was stunningly beautiful!

He sure got mesmerized by the very sight of the mysterious girl.

Please, who are you and what is this place?

This is Lighthouse School of Economics and I'm the young master Latif here. What about you?

He answered with a question about herself.

Can you hide me somewhere please?

What? Why on Earth should I do that? Who are you hiding from?

What is Earth you just mentioned about? She asked, confused.

And he got puzzled again?

He took her inside the staff room which was empty till that time after the school time now.

Now tell me everything about you. He ordered.

You are lovely! She said swooningly.

He blushed but ignored her sentence with a stern look on his face, typical for a teacher that he was! So she went on.

I'm just a common citizen of Thunderland. The king is searching for the bride for his only son. But not an ordinary bride. A bride with pink feathers unlike every other fairy in the kingdom. It was the crown Prince's wish which he could not ignore. So they searched all over the kingdom.

Latif spared a casual look on her feathers only to realize they were in many shades of pink!!!!

Well it's your chance to be the queen, so what are you afraid of and running from dear? He exclaimed

Have you seen the crown prince, man?

No. Is he very ugly?

He's stupid!!

Oh!

Why do you think so. How old is he?

My age. She almost cried. 

And you think you are smarter than him?

Young master smiled and she got up instantly spreading her beautiful pink feathers in the room. The whole room got flashed with pinkish light. He took down his throat and tried to pinch his hand to make sure he wasn't dreaming.

What time is it? She asked, disturbed by some thought.

It's 2 p.m. here. What 2p.m. stands for? She looked around and her eyes got stuck on the calendar on the wall.

And widened.

Which year is this? 

2021. Why?

What!

In my country, it's 100th year.

I must be dreaming! He laughed out loud.

No, not you, me! She said in the same tone.

Means you are from a different time zone. From a past time when fairies lived in the world rather than humans!

What's human?

Well, it's a debatable subject and we don't have time to discuss that now. Please tell me how did you get here on earth ?

I don't know I just rushed to fly on the skies and covered a vast area which I don't even remember to go back now.

So why are you afraid now?

Because they are following me and will catch me soon.

Well, how?

Now that you have time travelled and so far from your kingdom and its people, how can they follow you here?

He asked impatiently.

They can!

Time travel is possible for us fairies dear and we have some tracking systems attached or a common link between us which gives access to our location wherever we are. And we can track and follow each other.

So what was the advantage of running from them on the first place?

He said bitterly.

He even started thinking on the notion that the school has become a haunted place now and he should leave the place as soon as possible.

Let's get going. He stood up as well and she followed him.

It was no joke to adjust her long feathers inside his Buick.

But they managed. He gave her a cloth to cover her feathers only to avoid glances from the people around there.

After covering herself to her head she looked like an ordinary girl from high school. She was looking over the inside of the car and everything outside with much curiosity and astonishment. She sure was from past!

They reached his home and she sat on a sofa. He went in the kitchen and sat the dining table with some dishes his housekeeper prepared and had left in the fridge.

Come let's eat. 

She hurriedly came and sat on the dining chair. Even food looked strange to her but she started eating. He watched her closely and enjoyed how she acted.

There was a knock on the door and she got scared. 

Let's hide.

Don't be stupid!

He opened the door. There was an old woman standing there. Her hide bent down due to age.

Can I come in?

He hesitated.

Who are you?

I'm Thabia 

Strange name!

Came from far and I'm very tired. 

He hesitated but she entered inside the house without his permission. 

She sniffed her nose like a dog and said

Mecedira, my love, where are you hiding? Look I'm here for you.

Whom you are calling? he asked

Not you, of course boy! She laughed at his silly question only to show her very long and crooked teeth which scared him.

Finally the pink one came out.

Aunt Thabia! How did you get here.

Oh my darling! You know I can find you anywhere my child.

Sure you can. 

Muttered the girl and looked at him furiously.

He moved his shoulder like saying, what is my fault!

Ok let's have lunch together like a good family.

The old woman sat on the dining table and started consuming the food upon it.

No choice! He said and sat himself and started his lunch. He was really hungry despite all the strange things that happened in the middle of this afternoon.

You are a good host my boy! And we owe you one, thanks.

Oh there's no need for it.

She turned to the girl.

 Ok dear let's return to the kingdom before forces from the castle see us here. 

She took her hand and stood up. 

Wait! Just like that! Will you go away and leave me.

He said it like it slipped from his tongue.

Do you want to come? 

And before he could answer or decide, the old woman took his hand in her other hand too and boom!

There they were!

In a strange place he never even saw in his imagination!

There were violet-blue mountains around him, full of beautiful fruits that grew on the trees so unique that it was difficult to describe those.

Was she a witch? He asked from himself. 

Is it a magical kingdom?

Is he really there or just dreaming.

There were people flying on the orange colored skies above. Beautiful people with feathers on their backs.

Fairies!!

Come on in.

Old witch entered a cave hidden in the valley near the mountains. It's door was covered with trees and leaves so well that it was difficult to see it or realize it even existed.

They silently obeyed her.

Inside of the cave was overwhelming!

A creek was spread away in front of his eyes next to the big space they were standing on. Water canals flowing around the whole area. Walls of the cave were fully loaded with greenery. Beautiful fruits and vegetables and flowers spread different fragrances in the cave which made her feel dizzy. He felt like he was in a fairytale, which he was actually!

The girl threw herself on a crystaline bed that was covered with roses and he missed his beat!

Come over here, why are you still standing?

It was a bit dark in the cave but there were no lamps there.

Her skin was glowing like luminous light bulbs. 

Maybe there were more phosphorus ingredients in the food they consumed, he reasoned to himself.

He felt attracted to her. Her long curly hair were spread on the pillow and he noticed that it was mint colored. Dark green and lovely. 

He reluctantly sat at the corner or side of the circular bed. 

Someone emerged from the back of the cave and he lost his breath! It was Thabia the old woman but not at all looking old or bent down like before. Instead she was as beautiful as a fairy now, which she was. 

After all she was a witch!

He bent and took some water in his palm from the canal running nearby and drank it. 

Oh is it elixir! 

He asked from himself.

As if he had ever tasted elixir before. But he felt a sudden surge of energy inside him and also in his libido!

There were many other creatures resting in the spacious cave and outside it near creek. He could not name them but they resembled bit like animals in his world. Like toads, cocks, deers to reptiles like poisonous lizards and alligators. He even saw unicorns and prehistoric dinosaurs with feathers on them, outside!

This is crazy!

He thought! It can't be real.

So what s the plan? 

Mecy asked and he almost jumped out of his imagination.

What plans! 

Here's the deal!

We'll travel North!

There was a thundering sound and he fell down from the bed.

W what was that!

This is Thunder land, remember!

She laughed

Oh I thought it's Fairyland!

Well it is.

But then there was a real bang and the door of the cave came out of its place just to let in some other fairies inside!

Both women stood up and tried to hide behind him who himself was afraid of the guy fairies, with weapons like swords and dumplings! Yes those did look like dumplings!

Come back! You are invited to the crown Prince castle!

They ordered and took the girl with them outside the cave.

Thabia took his hand and followed them in a hurry. 

They started flying and he felt like a feather himself, enjoying the stunning scenery below him!

Finally he saw the castle towers and felt like jumping down in the fairytale castle. He could not wait to see it!

They landed in the castle courtyard and ran towards the great hall. 

Every thing was more luxurious and finest than he ever lectured against in his economics classes!

The crown prince was a bronze statue! Oh no he's real!

His golden brown skin was glowing, he looked like a bright spot at the end of the great hall!

His crown was filled with jewels that were in shape of flowers, fish, and different things and colors he could not make out or had ever seen before.

The three of them walked slowly towards the Prince. Mecy whispered something in Thabias ear and hinted at Latif.

They both took his each hand and boom!

There was another castle, which he recognized! 

Was it Olympus!

Nine muses were in the outside garden, some playing extremely beautiful music and some acting or dancing.

Water Nymphs swimming in the Atlantis!

Hercules was chained between two very large stone pillars but it seemed like those pillars would soon give way to his freedom! He was a statue himself!

Are we in Disney world or is it Holywood? Latif thought.

He expected to see wonder woman or the Guardians of the Galaxy soon! Even Thor and Loki waiting for Ragnarok.

But no luck yet!

We are in Greek mythology now not in a Norse Viking mystery thriller! He reminded himself

Why are we here anyway!

He exclaimed from those two beautiful ladies in his life Or rather fairies. Wow isn't he lucky!

Anywhere is better than Thunder land for us now!

They both replied gladly.

There was a thunder again and he got scared habitually now!

They saw a Minotuar running blindly in the lush green fields outside!

Where the hell he came from..he asked nervously.

From myths of course! They unanimously answered.

There were four women on the sky above them. He recognized them

They were Fortitude, etc from Dante's Inferno, not available for home delivery online these days. They must have stopped in the first circle of the seven realms or the Pergatory! Otherwise the world would be a heaven itself now! 

Let me remind you beautiful ladies! Running away from your destiny was a bad choice. Why not accept the inevitable. How many eras are you going to travel only to surrender to your Prince anyway?

They both looked at each other and took his hand and flew again.

Oh finally back home! He thought as he saw the mosque near his house.

They landed at the mosque and turned into humans. They sure we're shape shifters.

Mecy was In red, prepared like a bride.

He got stunned. 

What are we doing!

Prince cannot marry a married woman! They both replied gladly.

The three of them entered the mosque and asked the maulvi saheb to recite and confirm their Nikah!

No matter how much stunned he felt he had no objections accepting a real fairy from fairytales as his bride. So he said Yes!

And then they lived happily ever after!

( He still doesn't realize why she picked him over the Crown Prince of Fairyland and becoming a queen!

It's really difficult to understand a lady, after all! )
