Once there was a boy named Rahul. He lived with his parents in a small village. One day he came back from school and said: “ Mother, I did not finish my lunch today.” His mother became angry. “ You have been wasting food nearly every day. This is a very bad habit.” But Rahul ignored his mother and started to play video games.

This went on for many days. One day when Rahul came back from school, he did not find his mother. Later he found that his mother had gone to her hometown because of some emergency. He was happy. Now no one will instruct him to finish his food. So he sat on the sofa and began to play video games. Sometime later he began to feel hungry. There were only a few fruits in the fridge. “ I dont want to eat fruits.” But there was nothing else in the house so he ate some of them.

The next day he ate the remaining fruits. He was now thinking about what he would eat tomorrow.

It was the next day and Rahul’s neighbor Ms. Sanjana came to him. “ I got to know that your mother is not in town. Would you like to eat some vegetables with us because we don’t eat junk food?” “ I don’t want to eat healthy food,” said Rahul and went away.

The day after that was even worse. He was very hungry. He looked all over the house for food. That was when he remembered that he had also wasted the fruits and food. All hope he had was to ask Ms. Sanjana. He went to her house and asked for forgiveness.

Sanjana welcomed him and offered him some vegetables. Rahul accepted that and finished his plate. That day he got to know about the importance of food.

From that day on he never wasted food and always completed his plate.
