Valentine's Day Special

Valentine's Day Special

Post lunch, I was just feeling sleepy today in my office, when my phone rang, my wifi's photo appeared on the phone. Just picked up the phone and could listen "Hey, what are you doing now, am I disturbing".

I generally say YES, but I said: "Nothing special, shoot your question".

"Do, you remember what day is today".

Now, I am in a soup, "Ya, I know, go on", just to be on a safer side.

"I had to remind you".

I am still clueless.

"Can we plan for something"...

By this time my grey matter felt the spark that today is Valentine’s Day, and I said "Off course, let’s plan for something".

"I have to do the planning?".

"Let's go outside today" my prompt response.

"Ohh sure"...

Then I could remember about the office call scheduled at 9:30 pm.

All I could say "Can we order today, I have a call at 9:30 pm".

"Okk!!!"

I sighed with relief.

Generally, I leave from office for home at 8:30 pm, today managed to wrap up things by 7:30 pm.

I could see a wicked smile in some of the junior folks.

I managed to get out by a whisker, my plan was ready, walked straight towards Archies Shop.

That little shop is so small, during normal days, never even bothered to look at that shop, and today it was glittering with Balloons and what not.

When I was just in front of the shop, I stopped, as if somebody whispered "Archies and youuu???".

Almost started walking away, when I decided to do the misadventure.

I could see the grey lines in my hair from my own reflection on the door. Hesitantly, just when I was pushing the window, I could see the notice "Due to today's rush, the packaging is unavailable".

I smiled, who needs that, I will just grab something very small and vanish.

Looking at the small things, nothing invoked my attention. The reason being, I was just going through the price list.

It was so overcrowded, that getting or checking a thing was a nightmare, but the advantage was, nobody was coming to me and kept on asking if I liked something.

Finally, I settled on a Photo Album, price - Rs. 1299. What......

Just left the place, how could everybody afford this nonsense...

These people are definitely unmarried, they don’t know what is waiting for them...

Got my bus, called my wife "I will definitely be home by 9".

Before 9, I reached my bus stop, on getting down, I called again "Should we order now, otherwise there we have to wait today"...

"What order? Don’t you know today is Shiv Raatri, I am not going to eat any non-veg, come quick, I have prepared peas-kachuri".....

From the beginning, was she talking about the V-Day or Shiv Raaatri? I am still clueless.

The nearby shop was just closing, luckily managed to get a Cadbury's Silk, that too with a discount of Rs. 15.....

When I entered my home, I quickly gave the chocolate to my son, my wife said: "Was it really necessary!!"

I knew I have done it... my son gently kept the thing inside the refrigerator...

What an end to the day, peas-kachuri in dinner and my family is more than happy with that small chocolate.....

St. Valentine, you are awesome….or is it Shivji…

May all the Gods bless everybody and everyday…
