Trip To India's Grand Canyon

For the very first time, my parents and other relatives planned a trip to visit Gandikota. We all were very excited, but I was the most. We went there by our car and it was about 370 km from Hyderabad. My sisters and I couldn't sleep the previous night as we were excited to go. The distance was approximately of 7 hours, so everyone woke up early around 5:00 A.M intending to reach as early as possible.

   We started our journey at 7:00 A.M and felt cheerful as we were together. We all cracked jokes and were laughing hard. When my sisters got bored they read books and I was looking at the beautiful sceneries through the windowpane.

  Our first stop was at Kurnool. We sighed in relief as we safely reachd there. 

    From a little distance from Kurnool, we came across some drunkards creating a nuisance who targeted travelers to get some money and we were one of them. Our happiness, excitement was gone in a jiffy and we became tensed. One of them hit the window hardly with his bare hand. Some people supported us and help us escape and we changed our route.

  After this tragic incident, none of us spoke a word as we were very afraid. There is no adventure without some risks and tragedies. After hours of driving, we reached a place, where the locals said the water of the river Pennar could be seen. We took a turn and this turn made us all regret a lot as a rock got hit to the petrol tank and the wheel alignment got severely damaged.

After hours of searching for a mechanic, we found one, he told it has to be repaired in a showroom.

  Downhearted, we continued our journey. We drove slowly and it got dark and we couldn't see any sign of that place. We were doubtful whether we were traveling in the right path or not. Finally, we saw a signboard and we followed it. It lead us to a narrow road and travelling on it for more than an hour, we finally reached a resort which was the only place to stay. It was 8:00 P.M and the sky was lit up bright with stars. 

Sometimes, things don't happen as we planned. 

Everyone of us was exhausted and after we rushed to our room we felt very relieved. We all were together in a large room like a dormitory. We slept as early as 9:30 P.M.

  The next morning, we were meamerised by the mountain chains. The windmills added beauty to the scene. My sisters woke up early to enjoy in the playing area at the resort which I joined later. 

Few distance away was the Gandikota fort, we strolled there for an hour. Beside the fort, was the River Pennar which was flowing through a canyon. That was the only place that was worth seeing. We took tons of pictures. We would regret if we would have missed seeing such a pretty sight.

  We were not disappointed despite the difficulties as we spent time together. Whatever the difficult situations might be,  when we are with our family those moments cause less trouble.
