If I could time travel, I would like to meet Hanuman or Anjaneya as he is called. I was always awestruck by the powerful human-cum-monkey form of Hanuman who displayed extreme courage since infancy and also the level of devotion he had towards his Lord, Sri Rama.

Hanuman is the only mythological character who was so childlike, playful and at the same time, so mighty and brave. The great monkey God of Ramayana, is a symbol of the mind that has become disciplined and filled with devotion. He is a Superhero of Ramayana and although having a monkey form, he is said to be the greatest sage, yogi and devotee.

I was fascinated to know about how he has this power to become as small, or large as he likes and also his incredible strength. Today our world prides itself in a new information technology, with rapid speed of data and communication. But Hanuman had such powers at the cosmic level as he was considered the Vayu putra.

It was Hanuman who dis

covered Sita Devi and made way to reach her. As a child he acquired a lot of boons from various Gods and was mischievous too. So a curse made him forget his powers. But once he realised these powers he put them to good use. For if not for him, the sanjeevani plant could not have brought back Lakshmana back to life. He carried the whole mountain and saved Lakshmana’s life.

Lord Hanuman was able to fly from birth and he even tempted to eat the sun and flew to it. Such a mischievous character who grew up to be the ardent devotee of his master Lord Rama. He once opened up his heart to show Sitadevi that the LORD resides within it. Such a unstinting devotion has to be learned from none other than Hanuman himself.

I would bow before this magnificent, powerful and devoted person who has inspired me in many ways and turned me into his biggest fan. How wonderful it would be if only I could take a selfie snap with Hanuman and preserve it till posterity!!
