'Everyday in our life we come across millions of people,' mumbled Riya. 'But....' added Varun with a big surprise on his face. With a shyish smile cooed Riya, 'But....meeting him was totally different.'

With a wide smile she continues, 'He said, are you free at this moment?'

Flattened at his soft spokenness that too a humble request made me look on to him for a second time again. How he approached me and how efficiently he took further the conversation throughout mesmerized my soul from within. My heart desired to hear him more, enlighten more and keep talking throughout. But the bony time always checks in just at the wrong time and he said, 'Okay bye, good night.' Even though the intersection was brief, but the way he respectful interacted stole the show.

The whole night I kept pondering of every word he spoke. How he slowly swept into my soul, I just know not. I have not seen him, his voice I heard and all through the conversation my heart scrutinized every element it has painted for as a soulmate.

'My heart wanted to know more about him, how he thinks, how he feels, the likes and dislikes and I inquired to him, but he replied to none.'

'And then..'

'Then,...I thought about what's wrong in m

y approach, or he did not like me. Much of the train of thought kept rolling through the grey matter. My heart was not at all ready to abandon the conversation, it wants to know him more, seek him more, to understand him more.'

'Hummmm, Poor girl.'

Yes, indeed the poor girl. This unresponsive behavior made me think about what he wants to hear. How to initiate the talk with him? I started searching for means to break this wall of indifference.

'Then.'

There I found a good idea. So the following day I shared a joke with him. He responded to it with a smile. That was much of a relief. Not regularly but at times, I use to keep sharing jokes with him and he used to appreciate them all. Such a reaction from him was soothing. Finally one day, I was blessed to have the honor to hear him for the second time. It was like a reward for all the labor I did on him to initiate a new session. I felt much rewarded with his detailed, precise and heart touching journey.

'Hummmm.'

His very presence in my life atomized the world around, scintillating it throughout. Every element in me suddenly wished to narrate the merry scale that fathomed with this unknown stranger who suddenly became special to me.'
