The Repayment Of Hospitality

Long ago, there used to be a tribal village in a forest of India. The people of the village were very kind and friendly. Any visitor to the village was welcome and was received very well. Many travelers and explorers had passed through the village and had written about it in their books.

One day, a white man discovered the village while hunting. He was tired and needed food and drink, so, on the villagers' request, he decided to spend the night there. In his honor, the villagers decided to hold a big feast. The village was decorated with flowers and leaves, and a big wooden table along with chairs was built for the feast.The villagers made tasty food out of fruits, vegetables and other forest products.

The white man thoroughly enjoyed the feast. After the feast, he was given a comfortable room and a cozy bed to sleep in.

The white man thought, "This is such a self sufficient village. It gets its products from the forest itself. I must build my estate here, so that the people can easily fulfill their requirements. Now we won't have to import our basic requirements from faraway lands."

So the man called his business partner and made the arrangements for a new estate to be built in the forest. The villagers were made to empty their village and the area was cleared for the estate.

The chief of the village was very angry at the way the white man repayed their hospitality. He set up a new village deep inside another forest, far away from the land of white men. The villagers decided to execute anyone who passed their land, fearing the destruction of their village by another heartless white again.

Till this day the village lies hidden in the forests of India; its people hostile and uncivilized.
