They were opposites but, Ritu knew it all about Rahul.
At least, that’s what she thought. And her friends and cousins and really everybody thought, so it must be true. How could it not be? She knew all of his favorite clothes, his taste in food based on his mood, his hobbies, best friends, places where he goes when he feels lonely and also the fact that he loved his mom the most in the world.
Rahul Nair wasn’t any ordinary man. Heir to the business tycoon Mr. R.K.Nair and also the Fortune “Business Person of the Year”. Passed from IIM B, Rahul had a determined goal of creating a new benchmark of success in his company.
Ritu had met Rahul in the 1st year of college. Since both of them were Delhi, they met through common friends. Later texts led to chats and chats led to long conversations. His manners and etiquettes charmed her, the way no other did. It wasn’t very long before Ritu fell in love with Rahul. Finally, by the end of 2nd year she gathered the courage to propose him. Rahul reacted very surprised at this at first, but later accepted her proposal in a few days. She was head over heels in love with him.
Today was her birthday. Dressed in her new peach colored kurti and the beautiful floral pendent that Rahul gifted her on their first anniversary, she was all excited for the date this evening. The new perfume she brought had notes of jasmine petal, cedarwood and musk that lingered all around. The kohl made her eyes look like a goddess. She was about to complete her final touchup and it was around 6:30pm when she received a call.
“Hello, is this Ritu ?” Said the voice on the other side.
“Yes, how may I help you”
“Mam, I am calling from Preet Vihar Police Station. Could you please visit us as soon as possible?”
“But what is the matter?” asked Ritu in bewilderment.
“Mam, we have nabbed a person named Rahul Nair in a Hotel raid in this area. And he was caught with another man in a compromising position. So as per section 377 of IPC we have them both under arrest. And he wants to talk to you” said the Station In charge.
