The Holi Spectacle !!!

        The vast hi-tech residential colony of “Pinnacle Heights” had the best plans for the Holi Celebration for its nearly 1000 residents. Holi-themed decorations, water balloons, pichkaris, organic colours, Loud music played by the DJ, mouth-watering Holi-special savories, and Thandai with bhang to go high on as the residents would dance for hours on the tunes of the latest mixed Bollywood music. “Balam Pichkari Jo tune mujhe mari” was being played and everyone was dancing and enjoying themselves amidst colours and in the rain showers sprinkled from a huge water tanker that was ordered specially by the residents' committee for today’s grand occasion of Holi. The water tanker was installed with two large showers that sprayed water on all the residents on the lawn celebrating their beloved festival.

        Peeping from the outside main gate, was a few slum kids who lived nearby in the most under-privileged conditions one could imagine. Rinku, Pinky, Somu, Chandu, and Dinu, all ran towards the hi-tech city to see the residents dancing under watery showers for hours together. After some time, their parents also walked in to witness the Pinnacle Heights Holi celebration. Pinky said to her mother, “We haven’t bathed for 7 days due to lack of water in our slums. Maa.. I am going inside to take a shower under the tanker”. Hearing this, all the parents reluctantly agreed and all the five kids rushed towards the massive spectacle of water wastage which was being cherished for nearly 2 hours now by the rich people of the hi-tech society.

        Sneaking into the crowd, avoiding the drunk watchmen’s eyes, the five kids had their bath after 7 days!
