The Gift
The Gift
The story is about a simple girl Natasha who is captivated by a boy entering the class but gradually she develops a hatred for him by getting him wrong and later repents
NATASHA
He entered the class and I could not resist myself by going and talking to him. Finding courage I got up but seated myself back again because I saw Juhi with him. Juhi was my best friend turned foe. I could not face her, neither could I resist from talking to the boy with a friendly attitude. The next lecture began but in my mind, I had only one person, Karan was his name.

It was the biggest day of my life: THE DAY OF MY FIRST INTERVIEW. For some reason I felt nervous, I don't know why. I had already completed my interview in 10 minutes the result was to be declared. I closed my eyes, my heart beats faster than it could be. the results are out and five people out of those twenty will be jumping with happiness. I slowly opened my eyes as I heard my name.
I was on cloud nine. My happiness was doubled when I saw him. 2 years later. I wanted to say sorry but I could not. I went leaving that place with guilt in my heart. It was the same place, same date and the same month. I had always misunderstood everyone, first, it was Juhi and that day 26th April , I misunderstood, Karan. He forgot to wish me on my birthday and I said him something which will hurt anybody. I said to him that "I hate you" I said it to someone who five months back I made my best friend. I felt guilty after he left but I felt very guilty after Juhi came and told me that he was planning for something in the evening. I thought I would say him sorry the next day, but that day never came. I had this guilt in me for two years and today exactly on my birthday I saw him. I went to his favorite cafe and left a note with a gift. I believed that he goes there every day but I couldn't gain the courage to go and face him. This was the cafe where we went when we were together. I left that place.

I had not seen him in this one year span. I don't even know whether he read my note or not. I went back and asked the owner of the shop whether Karan came there or not. He gave me a very obscure look. He asked me to accompany him. As we moved the air became colder and I found myself standing in the middle of a graveyard. I saw my gift kept there along with a note that read, today is your birthday and here is your gift. Tears dripped off my eyes and I broke down completely.
