The Doll

Harsh and Divya were on cloud nine. Their wish was going to be fulfilled. They had yearned and waited for this moment for the past few years. Finally, their wish of holding a child in their arms was going to be true. You might be wondering what is this all about.    Harsh and Divya were a young happening couple who had everything going fine until recently when they got a jolt in the form of news from their Doctor who revealed the report of the tests done that said that Divya could not conceive.

It was obviously news that broke their heart. But after many months of brooding finally, they both decided they would go for adoption. The right step in the right direction supported by their extended families too. It was a big relief to the couple.                

 With some inquiries and homework done they approached a well-known adoption center in their city and adopted a young four-year-old boy after completing all the required formalities. The little boy with an innocent face and eyes appeared to be a bundle of joy for the couple. They packed his luggage and started home after wishing goodbye to everyone at the center. The little kid carried a doll with him about which the adoption centre incharge said it was his favorite doll since he reached the centre. It was quite normal so they thought and continued their travel back home.

To their relief the young boy adapted well to the new surroundings without any hassles and life was so rosy to the new parents too.      Harsh and Divya pampered the kid to the fullest. A part of this pampering included telling bed time stories too. . So one night after putting the child to sleep, they settle down to watch television when they heard a big shriek from the child's room. Both of them immediately ran to the kids room only to find him shivering with fright and crying loudly pointing at the doll. This was something very strange that was happening so they thought. After cajoling him and pacifying the child they ask him why he got so scared, they pick up the doll only to find the eyeballs of the doll moving this was startling for them too. They too got scared and went running out of the room along with the child.

Now they were worried about what to be done, unable to come to any sort of conclusion, they discuss it with other family members who too were scared and helpless about this unknown strange thing. Many of them advised them to go to a religious ritual to ward off any evil spirit so on so forth. Divya and Harsh were not the ones who believed in such practices. So they thought they would go for another remedy. First of all they together decided to check the doll thoroughly starting from head to toe. What resulted was simply unbelievable. They could find a lens and mini camera fitted in the eyeball of the doll, and this is what was moving frightening the young kid.

Now they could not ignore the matter. With many doubts and questions, they decided to go to the Orphanage and enquire what the Matter really was. When they reached the Orphanage and came to know the reason for this frightening experience they were left speechless.  . . . . . .  .   Now let us see what the Matter really was. The young boy was left at the adoption center by his father who was devastated personally and financially too as his wife had passed away and his business too failed. So with no option left other than leaving the young one at the adoption center he came up with a plan to fix a camera in the eyeball of the doll which would help him see his son whenever he felt like and he could even check his wellness.

On hearing this story both Divya and Harsh were relieved of all the stress they had gone through all these past weeks and heaved a sigh of relief. The biological father of the child left them with the promise that he would never interfere in their family matters but would like to know about the child only through them as and when possible. So this story ended on a positive note.
