The Clever Thief

John was a clever and kind thief. He robbed the rich and greedy people and gave all to the sick and the needy. The other thieves were jealous of him. They planned to get rid of him. After much thinking they came up with a nice idea to get John caught by the king's soldiers. 

One day when all the thieves were sitting together, the other thieves challenged John to steal the King’s Pyjamas. 

John understood that the other thieves wanted to put him in trouble. But he still accepted their challenge. After all he was also an intelligent thief.

During next few days John thought of various ideas to enter the king's palace. Finally he charted out a plan to steal the King's pyjamas. He went to the jungle and collected something in a glass bottle. He had prepared himself mentally to carry out his plan!

One night John dressed himself like the servants in King's palace and went to the King’s Palace. The glass bottle was hidden in his dress. Quietly he entered into the palace. The other servants could not recognise him as he was dressed like them. He looked for King's bedroom and found it in some time. He peeped from the window and saw the King sleeping on his bed. Now it was time to execute his plan!

He secretly took out the glass bottle, opened its lid and quickly threw it on the King's bed. All of a sudden hundreds of red ants came out from the bottle and spread on the bed. The ants entered into King's clothes. The King was badly bitten and cried for help. Upon hearing King's voices all the servants standing outside rushed into his bedroom. John also came in along with the other servants.

BY that time the King had himself removed his pyjamas in order to get rid of the red ants.  All the servants started to remove the ants from the bed and King's body. John quietly picked up the King’s Pyjamas and escaped.

Next day John showed the King's pyjamas to other thieves. They were dumbfounded. They accepted John as their leader.
