The Abandoned House

Shourya and I were driving downtown. We came across an abandoned house. We decided to explore that house. I parked my car and went towards the front gate and opened it. We knocked at the door, no one answered. So slowly we went inside. It was too dark. We could not see anything. So I turned the torchlight. We were frightened and kept on walking ahead to see what's around. Just close to the wall there was a hatch on the wooden floor. We opened the hatch. There were stairs that led to the basement. When we reached the basement and saw that all 3 sides were covered with wall and the 4th side of the wall had a small door. We went inside, but it was very narrow so we squeezed our body to get inside and saw that there were all historian things around like the enfield riffle, sword made of stone etc. We gathered them in our bags to show the police and left the house. We heard someone, so we hid behind the door. We saw someone in a black coat entering the house. We realised he may be a thief as he broke into the house. I had a rope so I asked Shourya to hold one end and I pulled the rope from the other end. The thief walked past and fell on his nose. We tied him quickly with that rope and called the police. The police came and took the thief away and thanked us.

The police man said that this thief was scaring the locals lately but they could not find him. He thanked Shourya and me for helping them find the thief. We were proud of ourselves.

The next day we read our names written in the newspaper that we helped the cops to catch the most wanted thief. My parents were very proud of us. I called my friend Shourya home. We both were jumping and dancing around. This was the best memorable day of my life.
