Tell Me A Story

Today it was raining heavily in our city. In the evening there was a power cut and the city fell into complete darkness. I was sitting alone with Nanu and suddenly he started a story -

Thousands of years ago there was a man name Monogatari who claimed to came from far off lands, he entered the city of a well-renowed king of that time, wearing shabby clothes and smelly hair and dancing like a dog everyone panicked and the king ordered to capture him and bring this pathetic creature before him. The king was furious and asked the creature to tell him about his pathetic behavior, after few odd noises he started hmmm...........aah........haa..........weee..........a.......ah..........

I am Monogatari I came from a very distant land where we see the only sea where our eyes go, I was a writer in the courts palace there, I had a sweet wife and a small kid there everything was going smooth till the day the king ordered me to write a story within a year which no one ever heard of, a tale which makes everyone feel connected, the one by which the future generations feel great about their ancestors and continue worship us. After reading for months and months I couldn't find anything which could be called great , something was missing in every story.

After couple of months, I started feeling nervous that if I couldn't make the king happy he will kill me, then what will happen to my family, I started worrying more and more and after searching a lot I got to know of a land far away from my land after crossing the seven big seas to find a kingdom where greatest of great God of the stories resides. I asked the king to help me to get there and the king sent 3 soldiers and a boat with me for my quest.

We traveled for days in the worst situation anyone could imagine, food, water stock ended and the storms made our journey a bigger challenge after several days passed we still couldn't find a single coast. We were without food for two days, one of the soldiers was eaten away by a sea monster, and one was on the verge of death with his body burning with the fever we were only two left hungry and thirsty our bodies smelling.

One morning I opened my eyes and saw birds were circling above us I got up and I was shaken to see the last soldier eating the body of the dead soldier with animal eyes he saw me and I knew he will kill me and eat me he jumped towards me and I dodged him and pushed him in the water, the moment he was down in the water his body vanished by the monsters as if they were waiting for it to happen after that when I opened my eyes again I saw few fishermen helping me to get up.

The moment I got up I knew I was a different person and the earlier me was dead already. My body was stinking and there was no way I could get to my family. But at this point I knew there was something inside me which wants to get out, then I went into the forest I wrote a book. It is this book my king try to send it to every kingdom so that I fulfilled my king's order. After that, the man fell and the book from his arms fell apart, the king got up and opened the book.

It was written........................We stories will always be alive till the universe is alive.
