Have you ever seen your teacher in public? If you haven't, trust me you don't want to. About 2 years ago, I was at the mall with my mom and my brother for shopping. The new school year would start the week after, so I told my mom I needed some supplies. I was happily picking out t-shirts that I liked when I saw an horrible figure. I saw my 6th grade mathematics teacher. Suddenly, I remembered her strict and conductive voice echoing around the empty hallways of my middle school. It wasn't a memory that I wanted to re-live, and it certainly wasn't pleasant.

In an swift response, I hid behind the clothing racks. I hid there until my back started aching because of all the bending. I took a small peek to see if she had gone. To my horror, she hadn't. Instead, she stood, across the jeans sections talking to my mom. It was the last thing I wanted right then. I hid behind the clothing rack again, trying to determine an escape plan. After thinking over it for about a minute, I finally decided to stealthily walk out of the store. As soon as I walked past the clothes rack, my mom saw me and called out to me, "Sarah, look who's here!"

I turned back and my teacher smiled. She told me how glad she was to see me. She also told me how greatly she missed me. About 10 minutes later, the conversation ended and I went back to picking out clothes. It was one of my most embarrassing moments. I hope my teacher and mom forget all about it.
