Summer Fun With Ice Creams

Dots the Giraffe, Stripes the Zebra, Trunky the Elephant and Boo the Monkey were very bored during the summer vacation.

“It’s so hot”, cried Boo.

“And there is nothing to do”, sulked Trunky.

“ZZZ”, snored Stripes.

“I want something cold to beat the heat”, whined Boo.

“What about ice-cream?”, asked Trunky excitedly.

“The ice-cream van only comes in the evening. I want one now”, cried Stripes waking up from his sleep.

“Relax friends, how about we make our own ice-creams?”, suggested Dots.

“Yaay, what an amazing idea”, said Stripes, Boo and Trunky all hugging Dots.

“What do we need?”, asked Boo excitedly.

“Well, we need a popsicle mold, popsicle sticks and your favorite fruits”, said Dots.

“Let’s go to the kitchen guys. Time for some summer fun with ice-creams”, said Dots, and the other friends followed Dots jumping up and down in excitement.

“Which one are we going to make?” asked Boo.

“Let’s make a rainbow popsicle”, said Stripes.

“What’s that?”, asked Trunky.

“It’s one with colors of the rainbow and looks very pretty and is full of your favorite fruits”, explained Dots.

“Boo, can you help get some mangoes from the fridge for the yellow layer”, said Dots.

“What should I get?”, asked Trunky.

“You go and get some strawberries for the red layer”, said Dots.

“And me?”, asked Stripes.

“Get Kiwis for the green”, said Dots.

“And let me get blueberries for the blue layer”, said Dots.

“Now what?”, asked Boo.

“Time to cut the fruit and put it in the mixer”, explained Dots.

One by one all the animals cut the fruit for the layer they were making. Then they put it into the mixer and waited till it was a smooth puree.

“Now let’s make our first popsicle”, said Dots.

“Boo, come and pour some mango to make the first yellow layer in the popsicle tray”, said Dots.

Boo poured the mango all the while licking his lips singing, “I can’t wait for my ice-cream”.

“Your turn Trunky, for the red layer with the strawberries”, said Dots.

Trunky poured the strawberries, making up the red layer while swaying his trunk from side to side in happiness.

“Come on Stripes - the Kiwis for the green layer”, said Dots.

Stripes poured the kiwis, leaving some space for the last layer of the popsicle.

“And now comes the last layer”, said Dots, pouring the blueberries to make the blue layer.

“And our first popsicle is ready”, beamed Dots.

One by one the animals repeated the same process till all the four popsicles were ready.

“What do we do with these sticks?”, asked Stripes.

“We put them into the popsicles before we put them in the fridge”, said Dots putting a stick in each one.

Once they were ready, Dots put the popsicle tray in the Fridge and put the freezer temperature on full. All the animals waited excitedly for their popsicles to freeze. Soon the popsicles were ready and Dots took out the popsicle tray from the fridge. He took out and gave each one a popsicle.

“Wow, it is so pretty, just like a rainbow”, said Boo jumping with excitement.

“Yes, that’s why it is called rainbow popsicle”, said Dots.

“I scream, you scream we all scream for ice-cream”, cheered all the animals before digging into their popsicles.
