She's Not Your Cook!

Dear Diary,

This lockdown period has indeed been an eye-opener. Yes, we are spending more time with our near and dear ones, engaging in hobbies and activities we once loved or perhaps finally getting the time to sit like couch potatoes and enjoy a movie, a tub of popcorn in hand. But, for a woman, there's more... the three C's....cleaning, cooking and caring for everyone's needs. Just a couple of days back, I was completely down and out, after the household chores when I decided to just sit for a while to take a breath. My husband wanted some pakodas to be made for an evening snack. Noticing this, my five-year-old son was quick to respond, "Is Mummy your cook? Did you get married to her just so that she can cook for you?" Wow! Such profound thoughts coming from a five-year-old. Well, I now know I have my little one to fight my battle when I am run out of all energy and strength.
