In an island afar the congested cities of the world, in a separate village, where nothing prospered except its tribal people who took their refuge here, there was a little tribal girl named Rashi. Rashi lived in a village called Nahipur. Rashi was a tall, bright beautiful young girl with hair that shone like gold in the sun and silver in the moon. She had eyes that enlightened with the rays of sunlight and sparkled with the silver rays of the stars. Rashi always stood exceptional. The science teacher associated with the school Eduall was always blown by Rashi’s mental capacity and influence to urban technology which was not encouraged by this village.

At school, the ethnological children usually studied religious and ethnic studies. Science was barely in touch. Science teacher did not have much responsibility for the students unlike that of the classes held by sages and rishis. The sages taught the students’ special mantras that could make them live their lives to their heart’s content. But our friend, Rashi was not interested in any of the spells taught and for this reason, she was disliked by all the sages who came to teach.

“Why do you always give a detailed explanation or reason for all the things our gurus teach us? Aren’t you scared to question them?” asked Purple, Rashi’s best friend.

“May it be a wealthy man or a great sage, he is a human just like us. His education doesn’t make a great difference to his status or position. Just because we are under his shelter, does not mean we are not capable than him. There are lots of things which we can do and he cannot. For example……”

Rashi was interrupted “See, even now too!” Purple chuckled.

Rashi had a dream of going outer space and to discover and reconnoitre. She conveyed her dreams to her mother who always said “Dear child, you are an exception in this village. You think big wonders that we small minds can’t. Enmity is always around you. I have always appreciated your work. But this world does not escalate great minds like you. Going to space can happen, it’s true, but here, it is impossible.”

“That cannot be true! Wait…I can ask father! I think he will have a positive answer…” Rashi hurried to her father.

“Father, I have always told mother that I want to go to space and explore it. Mother says it’s impossible to go. Is it true?” she asked with anxiety.

“Yes, you feeble girl! It is IMPOSSIBLE! Why would anyone wish to go to that mass of pitch-black dust! Did you hear me? It is just a mass of pitch-black dust! Why do you not understand! This is your only world. This world is your limit. Not a step beyond! Even if a fat chance comes to you, no one would take an infuriating girl like you who always talks about that black corpus! Now go! You’ve spoiled my evening prayers! The gods will be so angry that I’ve not worshipped them. Let me start….”

Rashi shuddered. She went to the cow barn near her house and stayed there that whole night lying among the hay and looking up to the black sky with spotted diamonds. She could not forget the harsh words used by her father. She wept and wept until she fell asleep.

Next morning, when Rashi was leaving for school, her mother was worried for the muteness she kept for she would always explain the new explorations she had been through yesterday. “Child, is everything fine? Look, I made your favorite veg dim sums in our village style. See! Mom has worked so hard to buy the ingredients to make it for you! Just taste one and see!” her mom said looking ecstatic and eager for the response.

Rashi looked at her mom’s face and muttered to herself “How sad she would be if I show no emotion of true agreement to her. Let me do my best to make myself happy.” Saying so, she took one bite of the dim-sums and said: “Yes, they are as good as a royal feast.”

“Don’t you listen to her Sari, she is an ungrateful being. These dimsums are horrible, and she says it a royal feast? A king will not enjoy such a meal in his royalty.” Her father shouted.

Rashi tried to control her feelings. Her mom went to the kitchen dejectedly. Her father, feeling content with the silence, went to the Puja room and started with his morning devotions.

After an hour, Rashi reached her school. The classes started. It was the first period of Science. No one felt elated. As the teacher entered, he saw the gloomy faces. “Good morning Children! Today I will start a lesson on ‘the stars and its’ Constellations.’ Take out your books. So that picture is your Big…”

Suddenly, the land erupted. Something unusual was happening for sure. The land was covered with smoke and green mist. An object had landed. “What could it be?” asked Rashi with curiosity.

“I do not know!” said Purple.
