princess and the reading tiger

'Since the night....' As I started writing I heard jumping and shouting coming from upstairs, people think I have a husband and a daughter but they don't know the fact that I live with two kids.....husband ? Just the elder version of a kid. I know if I go what will I get myself into and if I don't than they will not let me write anything.....let's go. 

I closed my laptop and walked upstairs and saw my daughter Heley and my husband Edward fighting with each other with pillows. My daughter Heley is in class 3, who is not even dressed for the night, and my husband well ....never mind. As soon as they saw me they stood still like children of kindergarten. 

"Pillows are for sleeping not for fighting and where is your pajama  girl ?.....go wash up your face and let me help you put on your pajama, you both are going bed right now. " I told Heley, she nodded like a good girl and told " yes mama. " Edward copied her movement and jokingly told " yes Wifey " such dramatic husband. 

" Alright off you go in the bathroom and dear hubby do change your clothes.....such children I live with, " I told and send her in the bathroom and pulled her bunny pajama and a matching night dress for Edward

( yes, Heley somehow managed to make Edward wear matching night dress with her every night, but as her, one is literally a bunny one his has little bunny printed in it ). As she came out from the bathroom, I helped her change her dress and tied two buns making her look cute and sweet. 

Edward changed into night dress and I gave them a glass of milk and then put Heley in bed covered and told " Now sweetie don't be naughty and go back to sleep. " she caught my hand with her adorable hands and told " Mummy I want to hear a story...." and I knew this was going to happen and I know other arguments will be useless. 

" Alright, but you know the rules right ? " before I could finish she told me " Only one story and no more demands....I know mummy. Trust me I wouldn't be naughty," she told with a sweet voice. " That's right, now what story you want to listen to, dear? " I asked her. Since she doesn't like ordinary stories I tell her to select an object and an animals name and when she does I make up story for her and but most of the time her selections are quite strange.

She thought and thought for a long time, which is never a good idea for me but can't stop her from her creativity but that pains my creative cells a lot but what is a mother who can't tolerate pain for her child. " I got it " she told with enthusiasm . " what is it dear ? " I asked to hope to get an easy subject. 

"As for the animal I want ' tiger ' " she told, well not a difficult choice, she continued " and as for object I want ' book' " she told, I judged too early.... how can you relate a tiger with a book ?, Edward chuckled at my confused look but I am too shocked to shout at him. 

" Very well, I shall tell you a story about a tiger with a reading book. " as soon as I finished my speech I heard a little cough, Edward in attempt to hide his laughter coughed a little. I didn't mind him much and started waving my story. 

" In the land of ' Hearty Jungle ' their  was a big forest where king Asher ruled with his Queen Rosa. They were tigers of good breed and the whole jungle respected them. king Asher was powerful and a very good king for his people and queen Rosa was very kind and motherly. They were feared and respected but there was one problem. " I told her and waited for her to ask a question. 

" What problem mummy ? " she asked. I started again " King Asher has a son name Edwin but he is not like other tigers at all. Edwin doesn't like violence at all, he would calmly sit and read stories and than share them with others. King and queen were disappointed with him and they tried every way possible to make him the Prince they wanted him to be but without any success, his little brother Jaffe was much better than him and was a very good son of his dad. So king Asher made his younger son the next king and has thrown Edwin out of his kingdom saying never to return again. " I paused to breathe for a while. 

" How unfortunate, poor guy its not bad to be different ....than what happened? " she asked excitedly. " Yes, that was bad but Edwin was not that angry, he left his jungle and thought of spending his time by roaming around the world and read many books on the way. He with his friend the crow roamed around the world and has gathered many stories and poems. Together when they came to 'Bell's kingdom' they found the whole kingdom in grief. " What happened ? " asked Edwin to his friend Charlie ( the crow ), he told " let me go and find out," he said and flew high in the air. And Edwin waited for him under a tree with a book in his paws. " okay that scene even made me think I am spouting nonsense but Still I continued.

" His friend came soon and told " This kingdom is cursed by a witch, the princess Heley is highly ill and the wise owl has predicted she will not live more than a week if ' a tiger with a book ' doesn't marry her. The wedding will reverse the spell and the princess will be fine again. And I know just the tiger for the wedding. " said the crow. " But she is a human and I am a tiger, how am I going to marry a human ? " asked Edwin and that was a wise question indeed. " you are right but now as they are looking for a tiger let's go visit the king and then we can think about a solution to your problem. " agreeing with his friend they both went in the kingdom to meet the king. " I told and paused to take a break why I make my stories so big. 

"Was the princess beautiful?, was she sleeping for the curse ? " asked Edward thinking I am just retelling the story of ' the sleeping beauty ' I didn't mind him and told " As they went inside the hall everyone got curious and saw a tiger with a book in its paws walking like a man with a crow in its shoulder how very surprising, even the princess Lydia was surprised herself, she with a very pale and cold look was sitting beside her father. The godmother of the princess appeared and told Edwin to show that he was really learned and not a fraud like other tigers they meet. " I am suppressing my own laughter very hard as I looked at the surprised look on Edward's face, he like kids enjoys my stories. 

" They gave him a book to read which Edwin read without any trouble, they told him to give speech on various topics which he gave without any problem and the king was convinced and he immediately arranged a wedding for the princess and the tiger. As soon as the wedding got complete princess Heley was back to her glowing and lively spirit as she was well again and the most surprising thing was yet to come, as soon as the wedding got complete the tiger turned into a handsome man wearing a beautiful wedding dress and looking like a prince and his friend turned into best man of the groom." I enjoyed the moment of a surprise then continued. 

 " When everyone was surprised, godmother explained that the witch who has cursed the princess has once cursed prince Edwin when he was young to turn into a tiger and his friend to turn into a crow. As his mother Queen Rosaline and father Albert of ' singsong kingdom ' cried bitterly the witch felt bad and told ' Hand over your kid to the king of hearty jungle, Asher and to hand over his friend to crow minister Ractor. Your son will grow up as a normal tiger but their will be one exceptional thing about him, he can understand human language and can read books. I will curse a princess and tell her to marry a tiger with a book and when they marry both of their curses will be removed. " Queen with a heavy heart handed her son to queen Rosa and told her everything. Queen Rosa ensured her edwins safety and than also promised to keep the secret from others. " I told, ummm now what else should I add? 

" That's why king Asher throws him out of his kingdom so that he can find his bride. " said Heley excitedly. " yes, I told and then with his bride and his friend , Edwin went ' singsong kingdom ' to his family was very happy and they celebrated for days, Edwin didn't forget his tiger family and often visited them with his bride and lots of gifts and with that my story came to an end. " I told her " and now go to sleep. " I kissed her forehead and she said " yes mummy. "and closed her eyes. 

"Was the prince named Edwin cause that matches my name? " asked edward teasingly, I switched off the lights and told " In your dreams now sleep " I covered them well and came out of the room, I know what I told you but deep down in my heart I know he was right.
