Journey To The Moon

" This sleepover was your idea ..." Said Edward with an angry face, best friend of my daughter Heley came for the night over, her name is lotus but I never knew she is such a cry baby, crying almost at everything and nothing. Edward is visibly fed up with all this crying thing.

 And the most important thing ....he hates interruptions...I mean night is like family time for him, and that's true we hardly get time for each other so the night is the only time we share together, we eat dinner together, I tell them stories and then gossip and he hates it when we can't do that any night....and thinks its as an interruption in our personal time. And that makes him dislike sleepovers even more. 

But Heley loves sleepovers and would always want to bring her friends over for and that's quite a struggle for me I can ensure that. I try to do this thing as little as possible but these parties should be done and Edward never stays in a good mood on those days ....never. You may say how can you be annoyed with another kid when you have one of your own then, I suggest arranging kids of six years old sleep over at your place and you will know what I mean. 

" Ummm why don't you go and take a break? , let me handle them..." I patted him on his shoulder encouraging him to go. He nodded and left the room. I helped the girls change their dress and made them ready for bed. They wore matching night dresses of white bunnies and must say they look amazing. I clicked pictures for their school diary and now time for bed. And as tradition goes I know what's coming, " we want to hear a story. " said my little girl. The rule of just one story and no more is well explained by my daughter to her friend hope she will not make a fuss about it. 

" What are the two things that you choose for the story? Both of you can choose one thing. " I told hoping to get a good topic, why telling a story is such a struggle for me? They got lost in their little world and then came up with something great. My daughter told " I want to hear a story of Moon princess. " and thats not a tough topic as I turned towards lotus she whispered " I want a story about a cow, mummy always tells me a poem about a cow. " well, once again two topics which has nothing to do with each other. 

But being a parent /guardian you can't say that out loud so I didn't and told "Interesting choose let's began. On a big farm, there was a little calf who use to stay with her mother, her name was Emily and she was a very sweet calf, playing in the field, eating on time and sleeping on time, she was loved by all. But Emily was not happy, her mother uses to tell her poem about the cow who jumped over the moon.....you know the poem, right? " I asked them, they nodded in Union and recited the whole poem for me. 

"Hey, diddle, diddle,"

BY MOTHER GOOSE

Hey, diddle, diddle,

The cat and the fiddle,

The cow jumped over the moon;

The little dog laughed

To see such sport,

And the dish ran away with the spoon.

" Good job. " I praised them and then began my story. " She read this poem again and again and dreamed about jumping over the moon but that was not possible and that's why she was very sad. She used to watch the Picture of the cow jump over the moon and dream to do that one day, her friend the Jimmy the goat, bunny the rabbit told her several times that it was not possible but Emily didn't believe them." I paused and relaxed for a bit to form the next part of the story. 

" one night when Emily and her friends were gossiping together they saw a star fall from the sky, they thought it was a shooting star but as the star got closer they knew it was something different. They could see the lights of the object coming from the field and decided to go investigate the matter. When they reached the spot they saw a huge spaceship in the field. As they went more close they saw two cows coming out of the spaceship. " I told, I need time to compose myself before going further. 

" Cows coming out from spaceship ? " asked lotus in amazement. And I can't say she is wrong about it. But it's my story and anything and everything is possible in my story as long as you like it. " They were not normal cows, they were moon army steward and Denny, they were as long as you. " I told showing both the girls that they were of their size to which both of them laughed....mission success. 

" They had a bluish glow around them and they walk on their two paws just like us, they approached the three friends and told them they came from the moon and they need help, their princess Daisy was very sick and no doctor could make her alright, she wouldn't eat, she wouldn't talk just stays in her room in her bed. The three friends got ready to help them. With magic, light steward made the animals of their size, and together they went on the journey. " I told and took a water glass break, they are sleepy will sleep soon. 

" soon they reached in the kingdom of the moon, that was a big palace but everyone was so gloomy, they went straight in princess room and saw her lying alone sad and weak. But in the environment she was in anyone can get sick. So they told Denny to open all the curtain to let fresh air in the room, Emily helped the princess to take a bath and then took her to the green field where they skipped, they played, they remained happy when they came back princess had a rare glow on her face and she eats happily. ' Princess has recovered ' said the king and he thanked Emily and her friends dearly and gave them a gadget in the present so they could visit the moon anytime they want. Emily took the prize and told the princess " If you want to stay healthy play every day, be happy and get fresh air and sunshine those will help you recover very soon. " princess promised to do exactly what she said and thanked her a lot. After a fun time they came back on earth and whenever they want to visit the moon they go with the help of the gadget, even Emily is happy though she can't jump over the moon she can visit it anytime she wants. " Finally, end of my story. 

" That was a good story. " said lotus. I kissed their foreheads and then tucked them well in bed. When I came into the spare room I saw Edward reading some books, I sat with him snuggling near him and he put me in his embrace. " our girl is growing up. " he said in a low voice. " And we will be with her in every phrase of her life, she will do very good Edward. " I ensured him. He nodded and told " She will. " God please keep my family happy.
