Penury

A man, outside the cabin of the doctor was speaking to a person sitting by, on his son’s critical condition. The doctor has apprised him of how barely his son needed immediate operation to avoid further complications. After two days of tries with every possibility, he had to sell his only house for one hundred forty thousand rupees at last. Here he was waiting to discuss with the doctor if this could compensate all. The man then enquired the reason of his waiting. The man listening to him told that he was here to discuss with the doctor about a previous case. He stood up from the chair and went inside the chamber.

The doctor greeted the person with a smile and offered him a chair but he just stood and asked whether he is getting the payment in time or not. The doctor just explained him that he had settled some of the outstanding installments, of the hospital, of his house, son’s education and staff payments. So he was in a situation of nearly bankruptcy and pleaded for an extended date. As the person asked for a certain date of repayment, the doctor stood up and came to him. Pampering him, the doctor politely acknowledged his friend’s sacrifice and without him, he couldn’t be able to establish the Hospital. The person politely reminded him that all his belongings were invested for the friendship. He needs repayment as soon as possible for his daughter’s marriage. The doctor assured him to repay everything within six months. The person left the chamber with a sigh.
