Nip In The Bud!

One of the most childish emotions but the most potent one...

When we were kids, we always thought other kids had better toys and hence would demand more from our parents. It was not because we needed one but because the other kids had one.

When we grew, it changed from toys to clothes, cell phones, shoes, etc.

When these small things turned into bigger somethings, we never realised.

What we did realise was we were never content and happy with what we had.

We always felt the grass was greener on the other side.

We would crib about why us and not them? Or sometimes why them an not us?

Envy is an emotion which if takes root in our heart, grows from our insecurities and jealousy.

Our envy lasts longer than the happiness of people we envy. We believe attention or appraisals from outsiders will help. But the person who can help us is ourselves. It is we who need to keep ourselves happy with what we have.

To look at a situation as a phase and part and parcel of life and not the entire life itself!

We should learn to praise and appraise what life brings our way, to find light in the darkness because even two negatives make an affirmative!
