Waiting on the campus for my best friend, I was in the middle of reading a love story. It got me dreaming about my perfect love story. Will I be lucky enough to find the love of my life? Do such things exists for real or are just fantasies? I have never been Miss. Popular and more of a nerd. But always dreamt of being with someone, more outgoing, daring and adventurous. But why would someone be interested in a nerd like me? People became friends with me to join study circles or when they wanted my help on assignments or projects.

"Excuse me, you left this book in the library."

I have seen it on the campus. ERIC is the football star. A playboy at heart but a decent guy overall. All the girls swoon over him. He just looks wow. And I realize I have been dumb-found staring at him.

"Uhh... thanks."

"So, waiting for someone are you?"

He looks at me curiously. The fact that someone like hi would bother being curious by me makes me giddy.

"Well, I was waiting for my best friend who has apparently forgotten that," I reply nervously.

"Mind if I walk you home then."

"Uhh..that's fine."

"I insist. I always wanted to talk to you.."

And here it comes. I am sure he wants me to do his assignments.

"If you think that's going to help you with your assignments then you are mistaken."

" Assignments? Why would you say that? I have always wanted to talk to you because I like you and wanted to know you. Even if as friends."

"What?"

"In fact, your best friend happens to be my best friend's sister and so you can trust me."

I am so going to kick her cupid-match-making ass for this.

"I don't know what to say."

"Well for starters that you don't mind me walking you home and for the dessert that we can be friends?"

I giggle listening to this. Color rises high on his cheeks as he gives a small grin.

As we walk towards home, I realise maybe luck just smiled my way...
