‘On that day I was so confused..I was totally blank.I already made a decision. But I couldn’t find a reason to be stern on what I had decided. So I was seeking other’s opinions.

Mother said ,"Your friend Alain got less marks than you, even though he is going for such a difficult course, why? Only because it is today’s trend. Then why couldn’t you take the same. No risks. Just follow them, like your brother.”

Then I went to my brother.

”See, how successful I am !! All our cousins are in good positions. You can’t bring down our family reputation and status. So you must go for engineering.”

“Just follow the way your mother decided otherwise I will be blamed in the rest of my life for not making you obey her; I don’t have any other opinion.” Father coolly replied.

Friends said ,“Hey man, what is there to think so deeply? Just chill. Enjoy your days. Whichever course that doesn’t matter at all, if you choose the way your parents say, then even if you don’t succeed, you can blame them. So simple.”

“Aha,A child from Pandit’s family doesn’t has to think much. He is so rich and has no burdens. He only has to be in a decent job for getting a nice marriage proposal in future.” One of the neighbors expressed her opinion.

I was in a dilemma. All the opinions were swirling in my head. I was walking back to my room, lowering my head. Then someone called. The man we always ignored; my grandfather. As I was in a bad mood, I was afraid if I will go mad at him. But I tried to control. The main fact is that I don’t like him. He is such a dirty man who always makes troubles to my parents. Once my father tried to make him stay in an old age home, but he didn’t spare even a week there. We couldn't go for a long trip or conduct a party in our house because of him. But sometimes he gives pocket money for me and brother. That’s why I am tolerating him to an extent.

Anyway ,I went to him. He, with his teeth less jaws, smiled and tapped on my shoulder, then said, “Listen to your heart, my child; it has something to say to you.”

And that’s how I am here to stand in such a big dais, to receive an award for the best director.”

The audience cheered by a wide round of applause. From there, I could see the tears of my parents. And I wished, by heart and soul, if my grandfather would have been there to witness this wonderful moment.
