Dear Ladies,

It's Women's Day, today.

A lot of people must have wished you.

A lot of people must have asked you what a hypocrite you are, asking for equality but not asking for a Men's Day too.

You must have answered them, lashed out at the patriarchy, and lost your temper because they kept asking the same thing over and over again.

But it's okay. They do not deserve your time, nor your hiked blood pressure.

You are worthy of unconditional respect at your workplace and at home. It's your choice to be a homemaker and work, or go to an office and work. It doesn't make you any less of an empowered woman, to stay at home and raise your kids.

You are worthy of unconditional love, no matter what size or colour you are, or what work you do. You should be loved for who you are, as you are and as you wish to be.

You are worthy of the freedom to choose your way of life, and live it unapologetically. You should not be "allowed" to start a business, you should be "supported". You should not have to ask for permission to work after marriage, you should be encouraged to do it.

You are worthy of feeling safe in any part of this world. You should be able to wear tiny shorts and tank tops without bras and walk down the streets, and you should be able to go topless at a beach, if you want to, without getting stared at, lusted for, or raped for it.

You are worthy of the right to choose who you love, be it a man or a woman. You should not be treated any differently for loving a woman, because it's your life and your happiness and you are the one to decide who you wish to share it with.

You are worthy of being surrounded by people who understand what it means for you to be a woman and how proud you are to be one, who know the meaning of feminism and are not ashamed of identifying themselves as feminists.

Do not settle with any less of this.

You, my darling, are worthy of all the stars in the sky, and all the drops of water in the ocean. The world deserves you and you should create a world that you deserve.

Yours,

A girl painting her perfect world.
