Late Bloomer

I am so happy to meet you I said to my old friend Anurag when I bumped into him at a relatives wedding.

I am a really happy brother. I hugged him again. He smiled and greeted me the same.

But I can sense he is not in a happy mood.

We have shared some of the best college memories together. Memories splashed in front of me.

All the ladies were busy and I can predict they were definitely talking about the jewelry worn by the bride.

I missed Anurag while I went to wish the newly married couple along with my wife. It has taken me more than twenty minutes to search for him.

He is taking some cigar puffs by standing at the corner of the garden.

Hey, I have given him a pat on his back. He smiled and asked me about dinner.

Anurag, is there anything you want to share with me? I have asked him.

You can share with me, I am not the new person I looked into his eyes. They are a bit wet.

Sravan, last week we attended the parents meeting. Every teacher is complaining about Ritvik's performance.

What they are saying? I asked him.

Anurag said they are saying he is not studying well and he might require to change the school.

As the school I have joined Ritvik is too strict with marks. Ritvik is in Fifth standard they are saying he is unable to meet the academic curriculum requirements and his learning rate is too slow.

Anurag, is this the problem making you worry?

Yes. He said.

Don't you think you are overreacting? Have you checked Ritvik?

Is he playing, talking with you, going out and doing all the same activities as any other child.

Anurag said He is doing all other activities like any other child. But when it comes to studies he is not at all interested to learn.

I said Anurag calm down. He might be a late bloomer in studies.

Anurag, London is 5 hours ahead of Newyork in terms of the time zone. But that does not mean Newyork never sees the sunshine, right?

Every child is special. By comparing more with others we reduce one's own creative levels. Every one of us has different time zones of development.

Let the doctor check him if he is ok in physical activities and remaining things let us find what he is doing interestingly. That one activity can make him more discipline. That discipline can contribute to his academic development.

Anurag seems a bit relaxed. He said I am so happy to meet you and give me a thankful hug.

I asked him have you taken dinner?

He said No.

I have taken the cigar from his mouth and thrown it in the trash.

First, let us do the dinner then we have to search for wives who got stuck in the never-ending jewelry discussions with the guests.

He laughed and we moved towards the buffet.
