Is it The Truth?

Darkness turned into light.

My throat was dry. I widened my eyes to take a look at the clock. It was 2 am. I was all alone. I got off the bed and headed to the study table for water.

I shifted the chair away from the study table, put my legs together and took a seat resting my back against the chair. I stared at the sky from the window, noticing the weather. Dark clouds covered the moon, the wind whistled, leaves rustled and thunder lightened. Weather was really mischievous.

Suddenly, I heard a creak. The glass slipped off my hand. It broke and pieces scattered on the floor. I quickly turned back my neck to take a glimpse. And there stood a shadow, clenching a knife.

      “W-wh-who a-are you?” I cried in a shaking voice.

No sound. It tiptoed forward. I jolted the chair and stood up. I struggled to shift myself. The pieces of glass pierced my feet and I stumbled onto the table. I screeched loudly as I felt the pain.

“I‘ll kill you,” a spooky voice bounced from the shadow, with a hideous laugh.

It was so close to me and all dark. I felt a knife graze the skin of my neck. The pain and fear made me shout horribly. I clutched the curtains and shut my eyes tightly.

All of a sudden, sunshine shone on my face. I widened my eyes with struggle. I heard birds singing.

‘It’s morning, how…? Just I was…’ I lifted my legs off the bed timidly. I swept my eyes all around the room. ‘The same scenario I saw at night, glass shattered on the floor and blood spread till the way to my bed. W-wh-whatever h-happened that night w-was t-t-true…?’

I rushed towards the mirror in dread and saw a mark on my neck.
