Mind: How can you even think of it? What will the world say?

Heart: But I am not enjoying it here. This atmosphere is simply choking me.

Mind: What about her, your friends? Are you blind, can't you see they are already making more than you do or even pursuing Masters? You will be 26 in a few months. Doesn't it scare you?

Heart: What scares me is the prospect of continuing here. Where am I landing?

Mind: At least you have a stable income. At least you can say you are doing something.

Heart: To whom? There's a saying, something is better than nothing, but anything is not better than nothing.

Mind: Alright, then what do you bloody want? You are already a loser.

Heart: Who says so? I haven't heard anyone say that to me.

Mind: What is that you want from yourself?

Heart: I don't know. But what I know is that I don't want to be working in this job anymore.

Mind: So do you think taking a break like this and seeking respite in the hills will be a way out? You don't have any job at hand if you resign. What will happen to you?

Heart: Again, I don't know. Nature has always given me the answers and I know God must have a plan for me. Continuing here will only suffocate me further. I don't know what may happen to me. But staying somewhere I don't belong is far more painful than seeing myself turn 26.

Mind: How long will you keep yourself in this self-imposed exile?

Heart: Let me resign. Let us see what happens. I will keep trying for as long as it takes and I am sure, someday fate will smile at me. The best part is I don't need money.

Mind: Exactly, then why go the extra mile. You are already stabbed so many times. How can you be so shameless, after being rejected so many times? What will the world say?

Heart: I know I am butchered but I am still beating. And the world you are talking about has gone far ahead. No one really cares for anyone. Even you know that.

Mind: I know, even if you resign, what will give you happiness? Is it the job at that Firm that has rejected you a countless number of times or a story that you secretly hope to become a best-seller and turn out to be a major motion picture or that company coming and simply offering you a package of 25 lacs per annum? You won't be happy then also.

You are hoping for a miracle. They happen only in fairy tales.

Heart: Perhaps, then let me try and do it once. At least 5 years from now, I won't be having this conversation with you...
