Golden Bird

On 15th of August we celebrate the Independence Day. It was on this day that we got our independence from the tyrant British rule.The Britishers subjugated our people and ruled over us for more than two hundred years.

Rohan studied in seventh standard in a Convent school. He had participated in a debate competition which was being held on the occasion of the Independence Day.

So, after the parade of the school students and NCC and the cultural program got over in the parade ground of the city, the debate competition was started. It was the last competition of the day.

Meanwhile Rohan prepared himself for his turn. Finally, his turn came!

Rohan greeted the Collector and other respected dignitaries and then started.

He said that today India and China are the two main economies on whom the whole world is banking upon. But India has an edge over their Chinese neighbours!

Due to democracy here in our country, our policies are crystal clear and our business strategies are non-partial. Whereas in China, the policies are much more rigid!

As India is celebrating her 75th Independence day in 2021, if we look back, many states have developed in leaps and bounds. For example, Bihar was one of the most underdeveloped states of India a few years back. But now it has seen much progress. In many scenerios, now it has become a role model for the other states.

Gujarat has also much developed in the last ten years. All this are due to the excellent leadership and foresight of their respective CMs.

We are today 137 crores people.Very soon we would overtake China as the biggest country in terms of population. It would be really difficult to run the country if we donot produce more people with the brilliance and leadership, who can lead the Nation.

The Indian men's hockey team won the bronze medal recently in the Tokyo Olympics.After 41 years the team won any medal in Olympics.

The women's hockey team first time ever qualified for the semi-finals but lost in a nail-biting match after leading 3-1 at one-point!

The real reason behind this change was due to the immense support and encouragement from the Odisha CM, Mr. Naveen Patnaik. He has been sponsoring both the national teams since five years and would continue to do so. From their world-class training to their proper diet, everything is looked after.

The Indian men's hockey team is expected to win the next world cup of hockey which is going to be held at the Hockey capital of India, Bhubaneswar and at Rourkela in the year 2023. In Rourkela, the world's biggest hockey stadium is being made.

The women's team is also expected to perform well in next year's world cup to be held in Terrassa, Spain and Amstelveen, the Netherlands from 1 to 17 July 2022.

Just like one person could change the destiny of the game of hockey in the country, we need more such leaders who would be able to guide and lead our nation and take us in the path of progress and development.

Rohan added that this progress would be possible only by the spiritual and moral development of the people. Many good talented persons are leaving the country and going abroad.

He narrated a story- 'Once after India defeated Germany 16-1 in the 1936 Olympics in Hockey; Major Dhyan Chand alone made 15 goals. After the match, the Germany Dictator, Hitler asked Major's stick to be broken and checked if there is a magnet in it! The stick was broken and nothing was found!

Then in the evening, Hitler called Major and asked that what does he do for a living, knowing fully well that a poor country like India would not sponsor the hockey players for the whole year!

Dhyan Chand replied that he worked in the Indian Army as a Major.

Hitler said that if Dhyan Chand would play for Germany, then he would give him the highest post in his army and tremendous amount of wealth and riches somuch sothat his next seven generations would live a life of luxury!

To this Major replied that it is not the duty of his nation to make him progress, but his duty to make his country progress; and he would happily chose the life of poverty in his country, rather than choose a luxurious life and betray his country!!!!'

Rohan said that if Dr. Abdul Kalam would have also left our country and gone to US or somewhere else, one can imagine what we would have lost!

This nationalist feeling comes from within! Today we are giving importance to the study of English and it is taught in all the schools. It's a shame that our ancient language, Sanskrit, which is the mother of all the languages, which is the language of our Sanskriti, is not taught in half the schools of our so-called modern schools.

We would make much more progress if even English is not taught, but if Sanskrit is taught in all the schools.

How can we forget and neglect the language of our Sanskriti???

Rohan closed his speech with the sentence, 'Our country is our responsibility and it is our duty to take it in the path to progress!'

Undoubtedly he won the first prize and went to receive his prize from the collector.

However his speech contained the truth and current pathetic condition of our education system. A country like Germany gives highest importance to her education system and gives more salary to her teachers and professors, than even their scientists and doctors!

Then how and why could we neglect our education system! The Britishers had played a nasty trick and had introduced their language 'English' in place of our language 'Sanskrit' ; because they knew that till the time we Indians are abided by our Sanskriti and speak Sanskrit, it is not possible to rule over us. And we are till now following their this policy like obedient students even after 75 years of Independence!

It is a shame on us and our understanding of our culture and tradition. If today we donot take steps to change ourselves, then the situation might become so grave that it would be really difficult to control then.

Hence on this Independence day let us take a pledge to become independent of our pseudo thinking and embark on the journey of spiritual and moral progress and make our nation the 'Golden Bird' once again!!
