Fun With Numbers On Road Trip

Dots the giraffe, Boo the monkey, Trunky the elephant and Stripes the zebra were very excited for their upcoming road trip to the beach. They had packed a picnic basket with fruits and snacks and Trunky had even kept a Frisbee to play with.

“Yaay! We shall have so much fun!”, sang Boo.

“We are off to the beach”, chimed Trunky.

Dots got into the driving seat of the car and the others took the passenger seats.

“Put on your seatbelts everyone”, said Stripes.

As Dots began driving onto the highway, they met with a huge traffic jam.

Stripes checked the GPS on the car. “Guys it will take us four hours instead of two to reach the beach”, said Stripes.

“Nooo… What will we do stuck in the car for so long? I want to play and not get bored sitting in the car”, cried Boo.

“Well there’s nothing that we can really do”, sighed Trunky sadly.

“Actually there are a few fun things we can do”, beamed Dots.

“’ Really like what, we are stuck in the car in traffic, how can we have fun?”, wondered Trunky.

“Well for one we can put on the music and sing”, smiled Dots.

“Noooo… Trunky will loudly trumpet in my ear….nooo singing” warned Boo.

“I have another idea friends”, said Dots.

“I hope it is a good one”, pouted Boo.

“Well let’s have a number plate math challenge”, said Dots.

“But I hate math’s”, grumbled Stripes.

“Which is why to let’s use this time to have fun while learning and making our math skills better”, encouraged Dots.

“Here is what we will do. Do you see the number plates of the cars around you? Turn by turn we will pick a car and the person next to you will pick if you will either add, subtract, multiply or divide the numbers on the number plate. We play it one at a time. Since I’m driving I will focus on the road but you all keep tabs on the score and play”, explained Dots.

“Hey that sounds like a nice idea”, smiled Trunky.

“You are the maths champ but what about me, I will lose this game”, whined Stripes.

“We are all there to help each other and learn guys. Let’s play and when someone gets stuck let’s all get together to solve the sum. This way we all learn”, agreed to Boo.

“Okay let’s begin”, smiled Dots.

Soon the friends were having fun with numbers at a rapid pace and the time flew by and they reached the beach.

“Oh wow look, we are at the beach already”, cheered Boo.

“Yes the time passed so fast, I didn’t even come to know. I was having so much fun with numbers”, said Stripes excited.

All friends spent a lovely day on the beach.
