Friendship

Long ago, someone asked me; what is the meaning of “Friendship”? Well, if friendship had a meaning, then it wouldn’t have existed at the first place. I am sure many of you will agree that during our childhood days many of us used to go around pestering our friends with a very innocent question. Which is the ship that doesn’t sink? And when our friends couldn’t answer; with a childish pride, we used to say, “Friendship”. Glad that in those days we didn’t know about relationships because in the end most of them sink anyways. However, at that time neither did we know that yes, friendship is indeed one of the greatest gift bestowed to mankind, one of the ultimate secrets of the universe.

The best part about friendship is;unlike every other thing in life, it does not have a definition. In life, when the citizens of loneliness haunt us, friends come to our rescue. They may not appear physically, but the plethora of memories, the good, the bad and the ugly shared with them hit us like a splash of cold water knocking away the loneliness. Those memories bring tears in our eyes, but every drop of that tear wants us to sing, dance & clap and desperately try to live those moments once again. We don’t need an entire cricket team of friends but yeah only a few who can bat with us till the end. They are the ones who ensure that our life is worthwhile whenever we look back. Tomorrow, no matter who we are, what we do, where we live; we’ll always need them. As the famous saying goes; in the end, affection is always greater than perfection…
