Flying Colours..

   Diya woke up and checked her phone. Her phone reminded her 'Happy holi'. Then her eyes caught the message of her boyfriend. She was eager to open it. Their first holiday together. She planned for this day for over a week, the place they will go together and celebrate Holi. She was eager to hear his plans as well as to tell him her master plan. But the message was not a pleasant one as she expected. He wants to break up. The reason is unknown like many silent breakups. She was devastated. She was numb for a minute. She tried to call him but he was not taking the call. She wrote over 25 messages to him. Her hands were shaking. She invested so much into the relationship. She loved him to the core.

Many of her friends told her that he was not worth your love. Still, she stuck to him like glue. She didn't want to lose him. He always had a bunch of lies with him. All of this was sudden. Nobody knows what happened between them. Even she didn't know. She cried her heart out. But her inner self was asking questions to her like it always asked. Why should you cry for a boy who doesn't even have the audacity to say why he is breaking up? Who doesn't make any attempts to maintain the relationship, who only cares if you talks to other boys, who doesn't love you but love your body?He was allowed to go and party with friends while you were not. Why are you sticking to a relationship that didn't contribute any happiness to your life other than stress and problems? Why are you even wasting your life for a person who doesn't take you seriously? He never gave you the respect you deserve. Stop running behind him. He is not worth it. This is not loving. This is not caring. This is not respect. This is not understanding. Relationship is mutual. It's not one's freedom to subordinate the other.

She was blindly in love with him. So blind that she never tried to realise the real him. This time she was hurt. She opened her eyes which were shut by the lies of her boyfriend. Now she can see all the wrong things he did. She was not ready to suffer anymore. For the first, she heard her inner self. With a heavy heart,she deleted all her messages to him and blocked him. She blocked him from her social media and her life. She decided to free herself from the cage she was put in to for months.

Suddenly, She saw her friend Rita's message, 'Happy Holi. . . It's the day of colours. . . ' She smiled and replied, 'Happy Holi. . it is just the beginning of colourful days in my life' ending the sentence with a smile emoji which she never ever want to compromise with others.
