Durga Puja

Creativity, mania, emotion, passion, extravaganza, love, togetherness..mix all of these things together..and what you get is Durga puja of Kolkata....the plethora of powerful feelings, drenches each and every cell particle of our bodies and gives us the strength to walk miles and miles for pandal hopping surviving the city's humidity and heat and braving the pain from new shoe bites, is it just the adrenaline rush or something more??....lets not do the analysis ....fortunately there are still a few things left in our lives that are beyond our level of comprehension and probably that is why they still exist...

My city does not sleep these five days..each and every corner is thronged with smiling happy faces----young teenagers with their group of friends, shy young lovers holding hands and establishing their perfect paradise in those frequent eye contacts, newly married man with his coy bride -his chivalry can only be matched with our very own Indiana Jones, the wondrous eyes of that little one holding on to his or her parents tightly, with a balloon in one hand, the wise elderly couple, the granny who could not say no to her grandkid is also there walking hand in hand, her feeble hands supported fully by the love of her love---her grandkid...people from all across the social strata come together and celebrate in their own unique means and ways but the fact remains that they all do....

Love is blind and eternal. ..and it does not necessarily always have to be between a man and a woman. .Yes, I am blind and certainly and tremendously in love ..in love with my city
