Day 4 of 21 - Self Quarantined
Day 4 of 21 - Self Quarantined
28 March 2020
Dear Diary,
Applause and applause everywhere, people are shouting my name, I am standing in front of a huge audience on a big stage. All I can hear is my name. I am singing a Bollywood song:
Tum Ho Toh Gaata Hai Dil
Tum Nahin To Geet Kahan
Tum Ho Toh Hai Sab Haasil
Tum Nahin Toh Kya Hai Yahan
Tum Ho To Hai Sapno Ke Jaisa Haseen Ek Samaa
Jo Tum Ho To Yeh Lagta Hai Ke Mil Gayi Har Khushi
Jo Tum Na Ho Yeh Lagta Hai Ke Har Khushi Mein Hai Kami
Tumko Hai Maangti Yeh Zindagi
Ooooooooo..Ooooooo....Ooooooo...
What is this bell ringing sound and from where it is coming suddenly and why is everything getting faded away? The bell-ringing sound is, even more, louder now and I cannot bear it anymore. I suddenly open my eyes and woohoo welcome to reality darling. It's 9 am and the ringing bell was my alarm. It's day 4 of my self-isolation. By looking at the time I got scared, "ohhh no I am late to login" but then as I looked into my cell phone, I realized it's Saturday and that means, it's a holiday and no work from home today.
Realizing that was sufficient for me to become the laziest person of the earth, well, so I went back to sleep. After tossing and turning on my bed for a few minutes, I got up, did my regular exercises, cleaned my kitchen and house. It was almost noon by the time I completed all these activities. I took a quick shower and entered my kitchen to prepare myself lunch. I decided to treat myself again and I checked what I could prepare. I found "chole" (Indian curry made with chickpea) and I cooked it. I am still watering my mouth thinking about how delicious I cooked it. I had my lunch and watched a few videos on YouTube. It was a lazy day and I did not do much the whole day. I wrote a script for my next YouTube video and then made a video call to my family.
In the evening, I practiced guitar for a few hours and then checked my Gmail. To my surprise, I saw a mail from StoryMirror stating that my story has been approved by the editorial team at StoryMirror and is now published on their platform. I was so excited and happy. I shared the link with some of my friends and even they loved it.
Later I went into my veranda to look outside, the silence out there was really depressing. It seemed the entire city is deserted. The Indian Government is taking every possible step to help the citizens, I saw some vendors selling vegetables on government vehicles on the streets.
I am on the bed now and praying to God to make everything fine again. I am eagerly waiting for the day to come when I can again go out fearlessly.
Good night and sleep tight everyone.
