Wrapped in a blue Saree with untied hairs and a black Bindi, she stepped down from the stairs like a princess reached from the celestial city. She was careful with her first saree.

 "What?" She raised her eyebrows.

"You're looking gorgeous," he smiled, standing in her drawing room in a denim, and a white shirt rolled up sleeves up to his elbows.

"Stop staring. We'll be late at the farewell party. " She blushed, avoiding eye contact.

"You have made it a little difficult not to stare at you today," he moved a bit closer, which widened her eyes.

Maybe that instinct played a cupid to solve the unsolved puzzle of his heart. Maybe it was pre-destined that he would think beyond their friendship. His heart skipped a beat for the first time, witnessing her beauty blended with simplicity. He was confused about what to look for: at her Saree, at her eyes, at her childlike smile, or at her Bindi, which could make one die for. How captivatingly she wears simplicity! His disobedient eyes refused to move away from her face. This was spontaneous. No one was forced there. He was hypnotized, and she was drowned in comfortable awkwardness.

"Is it for the first time you see her? No! You're friends for the last three years." His mind instructed his heart to stop behaving like this.

It was a kind of unconfessed story of love, their lips never uttered, but they had read it in each other's eyes.

He brought his lips to her ears, keeping a measured distance in between, and huskily whispered, " Your cheeks turned red. You know exactly how to get shy.''

She looked at him with utmost surprise as she didn't expect this from her best friend who used to call her mental, bro, and all. He sensed her confusion and asked softly,

"May I say something?"

She turned to the other side, stood lowering her head, keeping her left hand on the edge of the sofa in nervousness.

He sensed her uncomfortableness and shifted his right hand just near hers without touching and conveyed,

" Don't worry. I won't make you uncomfortable saying anything. We have a whole life together. Right?"

She looked at him, their eyes met; this time not as friends, but something clicked. They were lost, sealed mouths, and their eyes conveyed what their hearts felt in that tick. The entire universe conspired to bring them to that moment, and it's about to.

The nearby flower shop owner increased the volume of his radio station, and the melodious voice from the 90s waved to them.
