A Real Life Experience

Back in 2013, when I was in London (U.K.) I used to work in Twickenham Rugby Stadium, Twickenham. It was great pleasure working there and I have gained many new experiences while working. Meanwhile, I was studying in one of the finest universities of U.K. The joy of working and studying in world's one of the greatest cities was very exciting. All the things were going great except one day. That day I left from the workplace, my employer gave me 1,000 GBP (Great British Pound) cash almost 1 lac rupees and told me to give to one of his friends. I put them in my regular bag safely. Thereafter, I walk down the street and I saw a beggar pleading for money. I gave him change and continue walking. I was very hungry and was looking for the ATM machine to withdraw money for buying the food.

After walking few steps I found the ATM and I stood in line for money. Then, I put my bag on the floor and I withdrew the money. Also, I was in a rush and didn’t want to miss my bus. So, I ran after the bus till bus-station and caught the bus. After travelling 40 minutes I reached the destination and I felt something missing. Then I realized that I forgot the bag somewhere. Sudden, I memorized that I left it near ATM machine. Then, I returned that place where I forgot the bag as soon as possible but no wonder I didn’t find the bag at the same place and I was very worried about it. My employer trusted me and gave me the money to handover to his friend but I lost the money. I felt very bad but I called my employer with a heavy heart and told the whole story. Thereafter, I felt relaxed because my boss didn’t yell at me and simply told me that I trust you and it happened sometimes in the life but be careful of your things next time and told me not to worry. Then, I went home.

Next day, I woke up and got ready for the job. At sudden, I heard the door bell and I found a same beggar standing with the bag which I left around ATM machine. I got shocked to find my bag in a beggar's hand. I was very pleased to find the money and he told me that he found the bag with 1000 pounds near ATM machine that I gave him change and told me I know the value of money. Soon after I informed my boss that I got the money back. Then, I sat with that person for around an hour and offered him some snacks and coffee and also gave him some money. I realized that after all, honesty is not vanished in vain yet. There are many people with their good & honest hearts that help the people in need. We just need to put faith and trust. Though, truly said "Honesty is the best policy."
